The Cellar organises events for its regular customers, volunteer helpers and 'Friends of the Cellar'. There is an annual Christmas party with lots of games, fun and food. Subsidised visits to the local Pantomime are also arranged for those on low income, particularly those with small children. Day trips to the seaside are organised too and well subsidised by funds raised for that type of event.
It was decided in 2003 that the Cellar would try to organise a holiday for a group of regular customers, many of whom had not had such a holiday for years.
In May 2004, twenty-four people enjoyed a four day holiday break at Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. This holiday was subsidised by generous donations and was greatly enjoyed by those who took part. Good weather, good company, lots of fun, good food and a nice comfortable hotel. Following that success, a 10-day holiday, similar in outline and at the same venue, took 20 people on another memorable holiday in 2005, thanks again to generous grants. 2006 saw a group travelling to and round the Scottish Highlands by train, with overnight stays at a Glasgow Hotel, while 2007's holiday returned to the seaside, at Llandudno.
This annual event is prepared for throughout the year, and eagerly anticipated by those taking part. It is led by the Cellar team so that all can really enjoy this time.
